Took these pictures of prickly pear cactus in bloom in Florida. They were taken at Smyrna Dunes Park, located in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. The prickly pear cactus is a Florida native plant. It flowers in summer. The flowers can be white, purple, orange, or yellow. Be careful of the needles. If you fall on one of these or touch the needles it can be painful.
