Today my nature club went on a hike at Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge, located at 2045 Mud Lake Road in De Leon Springs, Florida. The hike was guided by Chuck Teague, a Florida Master Naturalist (and amazing nature photographer). We ha a great time! There was so much to see on this hike. We saw a pigmy rattlesnake, dragon flies, butterflies, birds, wildflowers, etc. If you get a chance to, take a hike out oat Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge. You will not be disappointed! Plus, follow Chuck on Facebook. He regularly posts beautiful nature photos he takes, giving you a great opportunity to learn about animals, plants, etc.
Lake Woodruff does have some short and longer nature hikes and some that are wheelchair accessible. They also have a visitor center with bathrooms.
