Baby Crab on the Sand in Daytona Beach

My kids and I were taking a walk on the beach this week when I spotted a baby crab walking across the sand. They couldn't believe that I could see it, because it was so tiny! But we stopped to check it out and it is was just so neat to see how small it was.

My husband was taking a run on the beach while we were walking and he found this sea urchin/sand dollar. Here's a great site that explains more about the sea urchins. This sea urchin is the skeleton of an animal and it's rare that we find them in whole form on the beach. I've found whole ones two other times, but both times they broke before I could safely get them home to care for them.
