RV Camping at Hanna Park Campground in Jacksonville, Florida

Camping7

Just a couple of weeks ago we finally took the plunge and bought a travel trailer. Over spring break we got to take it out on our first camping trip. It was wonderful! I'm quickly learning that if you want to camp over holidays and weekends you have book well in advance, because the campgrounds are filled up quickly. I was lucky to find us a few days at Hanna Park, located in Jacksonville. We spent three nights there camping in our travel trailer.

Hanna Park is a large campground that is located on the ocean. The unique and wonderful thing about this campground is that you have access to the ocean, can hike in the woods, can bike on trails, or can kayak around a small lake. I loved this campground! Each camping site offered a buffer of natural vegetation, giving everyone some privacy. The streets are lined with large live oak trees and it's beautiful. There was only one row in there that I would not have wanted to stay, which was where the few cabins are located that they offer. That street seemed very cramped and busy. But the rest of the campground was wonderful!

We set up at our site and spent a few days enjoying the area. We would ride our bikes over to the ocean, which takes just a couple of minutes. We took the 2.6 mile hike in the woods, which provided a nice shady trail, and we relaxed. My husband and son took their bikes for over four miles on the bike trails. They loved it! There are miles of dedicated biking trails, with some labeled as being difficult and others being very difficult. They had a great time on those trails. They also offer a bike wash area where you can clean off your bike before taking it home. Take your bike helmet if you plan to hit those trails.

Hanna Park offers beautiful camp sites. They have camping for RV's, tents, and offer a few small cabins for rent. The camp sites have full hook up services and it's very affordable. They also have restrooms with showers, some vending machines, and other amenities. We used the bathroom in our trailer, so I never even stepped into the restroom at the campground.

We had a great time at Hanna Park and recommend it for those looking for a nice campground. We heard songbirds all day long, saw wildlife come up near our camp site, and enjoyed everything we did there. Two thumbs up!
