The Old Senator Tree in St. Augustine

If you get into seeing old trees, like I do, then you will want to check out The Old Senator tree. It's located on the property of a hotel in St. Augustine. It's free to stop by and take a look, and it's a beauty!

We've stopped by to see The Old Senator a few times over the years. We've seen it during the day, and recently we stopped to see it at night following the Nights of Lights Trolley Ride. The tree is lit up at night, and it looks great.

The Old Senator is an ancient tree in Florida that is 600 years old. It's seen a lot during that time and stands strong and tall.  The hotel property used to be a Howard Johnson's, but it has changed names. The Old Senator is located at 137 San Marco Ave in St. Augustine. Just pull into the hotel parking lot and drive toward the back. The ancient tree is in the middle of the parking lot and is fenced off to protect it. You can stop and read about it and take pictures.

Enjoy!
